goddamn some of these questions you guys are asking are just plain stupid. some of you just need to stay away from DJ equipment. also, many of you guys might notice that hooking up the phone or laptop like this to a DJ mixer will often see rather noticeable drop in volume level coming from the phone even if you crank it all the way to max.. it's because of a few things.. the headphone jack on a cellphone or portable music player or laptop is the headphone jack, not a line out jack. they're not the same and output completely different levels.. it's passable mostly some phones are better than others. and most laptops allow you to switch between headphones out and line out be a software.. also anything that you're playing that is made for headphones.. like UA-cam or really anything playing through cell phones is going to have the high pass filter applied soon the sound.. there's no point in having your phone waste power and processing power in order to render a waveform that has low energy that no headphone in the world will ever be able to do recreate. so a high pass filter is applied to most audio coming through devices like that.. that means all your base that would come out of the subwoofer is not existent.. that's why DJ's that connect a cell phone to the DJ mixer always, always sound bad.

The connection only fits in to the earphone socket, blonde moment, do we still need to plug laptop in to mains

Thanks, this is still relevant in 2024. For anyone coming from a DAW that distinguishes between: 1) re-routing a signal (by changing the track's output), and 2) duplicating a signal (by sending it on additional busses), Ableton's answer to (1) is "Send Only" - @2:27

Hello, I have installed the latest universal control from presonus. I am running OSX El Capitan 10.11.6 and ableton 10. I follow your instructions but when I hold down the stop button the output button will not light up and will not connect. Even though when I press buttons I can see the midi track indicator flashing but nothing works. Any idea how to resolve this?

this doesnt work for people with ableton intro, we are limited to 16 tracks. I wish there was an easier way

Can you treat unwanted low frequency noise and vibration pollution that is invading homes and forcing people to be sick if they dwell indoors that is coming from industrial environment outside all around the house the same way? Sounds Like Soma - I liked your vid; am not singling out a 2 year old video for abuse. Ableton themselves have told me this rule of thumb - and this came about because of a STILL persistent saving error on some computers. You need only save that which can't be duplicated. One can easily reconstitute program AND pack files at any time. Also, Suite 11 makes 11 copies of your sets so the odds of them all being wiped our are nil. That said I often use collect all and save but this ffin' bug persists. If only you could help me solve THAT, LOL. Take care.
